Alien’s Passport/Certificate of Identity

Does a CERTIFICATE OF IDENTITY need to be notarized?

An alien’s passport does not refer to an intergalactic species using a passport.

Non-citizens within a country are often referred to as “Alien’s” which is just another way of saying, “Foreigner”. These are people that are residing within a country as stateless persons or otherwise unable to obtain a passport from their state of nationality (generally refugees).

Now, the travel documents issued by a country to aliens are sometimes called an alien’s passport or a certificate of identity.

Some states also issue certificates of identity to their own citizens as a form of emergency passport or otherwise in lieu of a passport. The visa requirements of certificates of identity may be different to those of regular passports
